ESPINOSA PRODUCTIONS ANNOUNCES PRODUCTION OF 'THE BORDER'
Documentary to Examine Life on U.S./Mexican Border
KPBS Television and Espinosa Productions recently began production for "The Border," a two-hour documentary special on life on the U.S./Mexican border, using character-driven stories to illustrate the evolving relationship between the two countries.
The production is a collaborative effort between KPBS-TV and Espinosa Productions of San Diego, Calif.; producer Hector Gonzalez from KUAT-TV, Tucson, Ariz.; producer Matthew Sneddon from KNME-TV, Albuquerque, N.M.; and producer Hector Galan from Galan Productions in Austin Texas. Through dynamic visual segments, "The Border" will provide a strong sense of place about the region.
"We plan to put a human face on the new global community evolving in the border region," says executive producer Paul Espinosa. "This cosmopolitan new world is neither Mexican nor American but a synthesis of the two, a testing ground for a new world order where values, behavior, language and culture are undergoing rapid transformation."
"The Border" is a co-production of Espinosa Productions and KPBS-TV. Esxecutive Producer is Paul Espinosa. The project is funded by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
